Baby Boy and Big Momma

I guess it's Katie and I reviving the Okoboji Creaseys blog.  I know there are a few graduations coming up and I'd love to see some entries about those.  Also Lori went to Haiti and Kay is retiring.  There is lots to report.
In case you forgot I'll be giving birth in little over a month. Wahoo!  That was a sarcastic wahoo!  After watching birth videos on youtube I'm a little freaked.  Baby Boy is growing quickly and is measuring a little over 5lbs.  I'm nearly 35 weeks; hopefully I have a maxium of five more weeks.  Everything has been going smoothly, but lately my ribs and back have been in pain.  His rear-end is pushing against my right side ribs and it isn't feelin' good.  I've got two more weeks of teaching and then I'm FREE!  Maternity leave in Turkey is pretty awesome.  They don't let you work past 37 weeks and you get a total of 16 weeks.

A picture for Steve and Oz

I saw this photo on pinterest today and saved it to my desktop for Oz.  I'm sure Steve feels the same way when someone offers him diet pepsi.
A quick update on the baby.  He weighs 2 pounds now and is moving around a lot more.  After forcing Oz to go furniture shopping twice we've finally ordered things for the baby's room.  The furniture arrives in a month and this is when Enzo and Lola will learn their room has become a nursery.  This will cause a bit of confusion and stress; Enzo will pee inside at least once in protest.  I'm sure they will quickly learn to enjoy other areas of the house.

Mini Quiche

Oz is in China, Lola is in heat, and I'm busy holding down the fort.  Last night I went to a birthday celebration.  It consisted of delicious mezes followed by a club smelling of puke and finally a classier club with music so loud I'll surely need hear aids by the time I'm 35.  Even though I took Enzo and Lola out again around 2 am, Enzo still decided that 8 am was his official call to nature and breakfast hour.  Hmmmmm they really don't understand the concept of mom having a headache. This brings me to my morning activity, making myself some delicious mini quiches.  I've never made my own crust for quiche.  But Turkey doesn't exactly offer a giant freezer section of premade piecrusts, nor do I own a pie pan.  I do however have a muffin pan and the ability to google quiche crust.  I decided to fill my quiche with mushrooms, onion, and cheese.  Here is a photo of the mushroom  mix in progress.

It's been a very long time

 Hi Everyone
It's been such a long time since I created a blog.  A lot has been happening over here.  We got a new dog Lola.  Nine days after she arrived at our house she was diagnosed with canine distemper.  90 % of the time it ends in death for  puppies.  She spent 17 days at the vets and was finally allowed to come home.  She came home weighing less than 8 lbs.  Now she's 19 to 20 lbs (my dad says she is a little Creasey).  We're just hoping the neurological symptoms don't appear, although it can happen even months after they appear better.  Oz and I officially have a zoo.  Here is little Lola.

We're excited that so many people are coming to the wedding.  Prepare yourselves for belly dancers and cross dressers!

It's a Holiday!

It's been a long time since someone blogged so I'll spice up the Creasey website this week.  Today is a holiday.  Thank goodness I am not a school and get to enjoy a day making monster cookies.  My housekeeper was very interested in a cookie with everything!  Turkish cooking is simple and delicious.  A monster cookie was a totally new concept for her.  I am glad I could share.

School is going fine.  Do I love my job?  Who loves being hit or having desks kicked over?  It's fun taking away kids scissors because they try to cut their unknowing friends hair.  All of these things make for an interesting day.  There are many more comments I could make about my job, but I'll leave it at Turkish school kids are nothing like American school children.  We feared our names being written on the board or a call to our parents.

Because Megan pressured me :)

 Hi Family,
I was going to blog today due to pressures from Megan and lack of activity on the site.  Well Bill beat me to it with a great blog from Okoboji.  Now I'm really craving some fish from okoboji.  With all the fish frying and fish baking and wine drinking, my blog will seem tame.  I didn't have all the family emails so I didn't get to send out my amazing video about getting hitched.  Long story short, I'm getting married in June 2011.  Oz is a very lucky man (I'm lucky too, but I don't want him to forget that he is really lucky).

Above is the spot of the official engagement.  It's my favorite restaurant in the city.  We're on the European side looking at Asia.

This is the ring. I know this may be a big snooze to most of you, but girls care about this stuff.  I'll probably give a few of my friends this website to see the pictures as well.

Blogging Before Bill

Kay and Bill arrived safely.  Today we've eaten and eaten and basically eaten more.  We also tried to train my mother to say "Thank-you" correctly in Turkish, if you mess up the pronunciation you might actually say "testicles."  The two words sound a lot alike.  If you visited me I'll teach you how to say both.

Here is my father taking photographs in the area of Sariyer.  We're getting close to the Black Sea.
Tonight we went to a wonderful dinner full of authentic Turkish dishes, Raki, Bill calling Baklava Greek (offending the waiters), Cay, and an American Flag!!!  After enough Raki I was calling Iowa the original American colony.
This last photo is for Steve.  It is my favorite sandwich  EVER!  It is a bunch of mystery meats, pickles, cucumber, tomatoes, and some sort of SPRING SALAD!!!  Bill ate all 15 inches of his.

NEWS from Asia

 Hi Everyone,
This blog won't have pictures.  So if you want pictures stop reading now.  I'll post pictures when Kay and Bill arrive, mostly just the photos of them after a lot of Raki!!!  I have some exciting news.  I finished my CELTA (certificate in english language teaching to adults) in March.  I had the opportunity to teach students from all over the world including students from Iraq, Pakistan, and the Congo. I spent 9 hours a day learning how to teach, teaching, and assessing lessons. I am done and received a great score.
My last two weeks I spent looking for a job.  I was offered a position at a preschool near my home, but I turned it down for many reasons.  First the pay wasn't that great, second I was the only native speaker in the school and only two other people spoke english and finally the kids were 2.5-3.5 years old.  Now one 2.5 year old is cute, but 10 is out of control.  I was looking to teach children who didn't need me to wipe for them after they used the restroom.

An update from a Palin free Country

Long time no blog!  Here is a brief update.  No I don't have a new boyfriend and I'm not heading off to France to marry at Dutch man.  But I did move into a new house in January.  I've posted some pictures on facebook.  The house was custom designed with the destroyers in mind (enzo and zeb).  Zeb has broken a few candle holders, but nomajor damage yet.  This is the living room during the construction.  There was amazing silver wallpaper all over the room.  As much as I wanted to have a metallic living room, I decided for the sake of my eyes to take it down.

The next photo is of Zeb.  In the half bathroom/laundry room is where his bathroom is located.  Rather than having an exposed litter box  I decided to have a kitty door cut into the new closest.  This gives Zeb privacy and gives me no litter mess.  He is a very proud boy in this photo.
