Happy Birthday Bob

 Happy Birthday Bob!!!!!!!!

11-11-11 has a special significance.  Do the subtraction.  Bob was born on 11-11-1951.

Sorry for the damage to the photograph but here is Bob at his third birthday.  He is one the left.  I'm in the center and our very good friend Jan Paul Metcalf is on the right.

Someday I will restore this photo to remove the scratchs and give us all a smile.

Here is one of my Okoboji favorites-- Bob floating in G-2.  I'm trying to figure out whose dock is behind Bob.  I know the far dock with the big speedboat is Foster's.

Bob, have a great day.  Get out there and take some photos!!!

Today we celebrated Christmas in Muscatine with Ann.  Here is Ann with her presents under our Christmas tree:

David attended part of the celebration by video Skype.

Here are Kay and Ann enjoying their conversation with David.

Unfortunately,  David missed our wonderful ham dinner.

Happy Birthday Kay

Today is Kay's birthday!!   I won't disclose her age -- let's just say she and Bob will deserve a big party next year.

Here is a picture of flowers she received from Ann and Oz.

She also received a very practical book from me.

Happy Birthday Bob!!!

Happy birthday Bob!

I think you are __9 so you will hit one of those celebratory __0 birthdays next year.

On another subject (or as Kay would say "topic switch"), I hope you have all been reading Megan's great blog from England.  It's very entertaining and the pictures are great!!!  I'll set up a new photo gallery for her this weekend and ask her to post her pictures here.   Great work Megan!
Here is one of my favorites.

Activities

With Kay and Ann in Turkey, KT in France, and Bob at the Kingsley 125th, I decided I should travel also.  I decided to go to one of David's favorite photography spots, the Saulsbury Recreational area in Muscatine County.  According to the brochure published by the Muscatine County Conservation Board the bridge was used by vehicular traffic from its completion in 1881 until closure in 1967.  On March 26, 1977, the bridge accidentally burned, and all except two spans were removed.
I went to Saulsbury park near sunset to experiment with high dynamic range photography-HDR.  A camera can photograph about 6 f-stops of light variation.  The human eye can see about 13 f-stops.  (Ask Bob to explain this to you.) To achieve HDR photographs, you take a number of images at different exposure lengths from under exposed to over exposed and then combine them with Photoshop or specialty program such as Photomatix.

Ann Made It to Turkey

Ann made it to Antalya, Turkey.  Her cat Zeb made it too.

She will be working with Oz at the Lares Park Hotel, a Five Star hotel in Antalya.  Their English website is http://www.laresparkhotel.com/laresantalya/index.html.  (You have to click on the small British flag on the bottom of the first page to actually enter the site.)

Wedding Fun

Keri and Jake's Wedding:

Elaine, Bill, Bob, Kay, Steve, Lori, Ann, KT and Blake attended Keri and Jake's wedding in Williamsburg, Iowa.
Thanks to Jake and Keri for inviting us.
My last post did not include a picture of the bride and groom. Here they are.  Mark took the picture.  I photoshoped it.
Thanks to Steve's family, Mark, Nancy, Carol, and Dave for coming to Muscatine for our pizza party!
I'm going to post more pictures on the 2009 gallary.  If you have good pictures from the wedding, send them to me.
Thanks.

The picture of Blake with the treasure chest reminds me of my WOW (World of Warcraft) days.  What's in the chest?
