The Creasey LLC's Management Team (hereafter referred to as CLMT!) successfully concluded its meeting in Kingsley, Iowa.

Thank you to Bill and Steve for making the effort to come to Kingsley to get this much needed business conducted. The team traveled to the Le Mars Plymough County Courthouse to change the ownership of the Boat and Canoe to the Creasey Management Company, LLC, visited with our insurance agent, Jim Harvey, toured the farms, discussed business, ate Pork Vouvray, and went to the Plymouth County FSA office to take care of signing up the farms for the farm program, and meeting with the tax guy on Tuesday morning.

We boarded up the back of the office building in Kingsley as it was discovered that the floor near the back door was rotting and there was a pervasive mold spell which was so bad tthat Bill was forced to stay out. No decision was made on the building's future.

All in all the meeting was successful and the secretary extends his thanks to all participants for their fine work and special thanks and kudos and deep bows to our Manager, Steve.

October Meeting - Lake Okoboji

It was a very good weekend for the Creasey family. The weather was amazing. Work was accomplished and we all need to be aware of the goings on within "the powers that be". The Creasey family has taken great pains to insure that the cottages do not secumb to the fate of the Bauske cottage. Of course we all benefit by the foresight of the matriarch of the Creasey clan: Elaine. We owe her a debt that we probably won't appreciate fully until well into the future. But, I'm not here to discuss the future. I'm writing to convey my thanks to my brothers: Bill and Steve for the jobs they did and, in Steve's case anyway, the job he will be doing in the months ahead! Me? Oh I was taking pictures of course - remember I told you how beautiful the weather was?

Happy Birthday Megan!

22 years ago Megan Christine Creasey arrived in Sioux City. I know, I was there. Anyway, the moment she was born I could tell a difference just in how peacefully she entered the world <remember the last child I had seen born was Andrew and he was not going to enter the world quietly (yes, he was a naturally "strong" voice) >. In Psychology class we talk about the differnces in genders and I always relate to my own experiences with my children. Besides their one obvious difference, the boys were basically the same. When Megan was born she was a total mystery to me because truthfully I was dreading having a girl (I had weathered two boys already and was now trained to deal with boys - besides I didn't have much experience with girls with two brothers in the house!) But her birth put an end to that fear - in spades!

Happy Bithday Bill!

Happy Birthday Brother Bill! (see the forums for more details)! AwwwwwWWWwww . . . wasn't he cute as a kid? This was probably about the time I was born so my memory of this day is a bit hazy.

Thank you Bill and Kay

I've been thinking about how to thank Brother Bill for his hospitality and patience in letting me tag along to Turkey for Ann and Oz's wedding. Mere words are inadequate and I like to capture images so I thought I would share some of the ones I took in Muscatine of their lush back yard and patio decor!
Here's a shot of the cool stone arrangement on their side patio - (Kay must be responsible for this):
Here's one of their back yard looking over their back patio.

I loved Kay's arrangement so much that I took another photo. Check out their back yard! Incredibly green. Beautiful!

Easter Sunday at Okoboji

What a marvelous day for a road trip - started out in fog, ended at Okoboji. See the link for Pictures: I love the new door in the downstairs bedroom! I was very pleased with the cottage and hopefully the days of allergies will be over!

The Johnson cottage has been removed and the water is high. There are several docks out as you will see I took some shots from Christiansen's dock.

Recent Trip to Okoboji - Pictures of the progress in the cottage!

On Saturday, Bob took Mom to Okoboji to check on the progress that Greg has mad on the renovations of the "new" cottage. Here's a link to my Facebook page where I put the album.
It was a beautiful day but the cottage is a long way from finished! Hopefully it will be done in time for Ann and Oz's reception! (I'm sure it looked worse than what it was.)

The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center

This past weekend I took advantage of a great opportunity to travel to Sioux City to revisit the place where I had met Charles Guildner a couple of years ago. Today's event was to partake of the pleasure of hearing Bruce Thorsen's talk about his project to visit several small Nebraska towns to explore the effects of the Great Recession of 2009! Bruce (no relation to Iowa's David) lost his right arm when he was 19 in an accident and wears a hook-like prosthetic. As a result, he had a personal interest in finding people who suffered from disabilities of some sort and report on them - while trusting his three students to concentrate on their main mission which was to report on the effects of the recession on small town Nebraska communities. (See the map)

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Here in the 51st state of Western Iowa the weather yesterday was heartening - reminded me of Arizon it was so nice. I went to visit mom in Kingsley to help her put a VCR back and took the scenic route so I could capture some images along the way. This one is of a seed processing plant just out side of Washta taken at about 11:00 in the morning. I was intrigued by the patterns in the bracing and framework so made it Black and White to give it that "Documentary" look.
